Oral Health Promotion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
It is difficult to categorise all people who are at greater risk of poor oral health. However, those with Aboriginal heritage and those who resides/ resided in Torres Strait Islands may be classified as having the worst health status of any groups in Australia mainly due to poverty, lack of services, lack of access to oral health promotion. In line with Department Health and Ageing's rationale and in the efforts of closing this gap, Jinky Marsh, as an oral health educator is available for oral health promotions amongst Aboriginal groups across NSW. Her programs are generally interactive, motivational, suitably-entertaining and wellbeing-focused. Education is a key to initially be aware of our own health, understand it and make healthy choices thereafter.
