Banking and Finance
Jinky Marsh (nee Trijo) holds a Bachelor of Science major in Mathematics (St Paul University Quezon City 1994-Philippines, formerly St Paul College, Quezon City). She has worked in the banking and financial services both locally and overseas for over a decade, mainly in investment banking, treasury, stockbroking, research and securitised lending divisions. She was starting her Master in Business Administration at the Ateneo de Manila University Graduate School of Business when her skilled-worker immigration application to Australia was approved. Jinky moved to Melbourne in 1999 and in 2004, she was relocated to Sydney by her last investment bank employer Macquarie Bank Ltd..
Community Health Care
In 2006, Jinky decided to change career and move to community health care. With available shift works, Jinky gradually started her new profession in dental, aged care and perioperative fields wherein she wished to cultivate an integrated niche as a Dental Hygienist and an Enrolled Nurse in the long term for her loved ones primarily, and then the community. Jinky is a registered dental hygienist who earned a Bachelor Degree in Oral Health at the University of Newcastle (Dec 2015) and is a member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association of Australia Inc. - NSW Branch. While at university, Jinky was one of two students chosen in the pilot program teaching health professionals and patients in geriatric hospital wards. The program involved oral health assessments of geriatric patients, promotion and education to rehabilitation nurses, physiotherapists and dieticians. Jinky was contracted as a Locum Dental Hygienist and Oral Health Educator for the Centre of Education and Research on Ageing at the Concord Repatriation and General Hospital next day after graduation. She was the first dental hygienist hired by the department and was held against the vacant Oral Health Therapist position. After her extended contract at the research centre, Jinky expands her clinical experienced as a dental hygienist in CBD and suburban dental clinics. Jinky is set to pursue an extended Bachelor degree in Oral Health Therapy at the University of Newcastle in response to the nation's demand for registered Oral Health Therapists.
Prior to her completion of Oral Health degree, Jinky was a sought-after Dental Assistant and Assistant-in-Nursing in the lower and upper North Shore areas, Hills district, Sydney Western and CBD areas. Jinky holds a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (distinction level-2007) and a Certificate IV in Oral Health Education (2008). As an Oral Health Educator, Jinky does plaque scoring, saliva testing, communicates suitable oral hygiene methods (proper brushing and flossing), dietary advice, preventive measures in clinical and community environment and gaining awareness in dental health issues that arise within the community. You may contact Jinky for Oral Health Promotion sessions in your facility, playgroup, day care centre, learning centre, school and organised group meetings.
Jinky has also earned units of Certificate IV in Dental Radiography and completed a training on Forensic Dentistry for Dental Assistants (NSW Australian Dental Association/ Westmead Hospital). She has working experiences in general and specialist practices - orthodontics, periodontics and oral surgery. Jinky is fortunate to have associations with specialists who are likewise senior lecturers in reputable universities in NSW. Jinky also worked (on-call) with a team specialising in providing domiciliary oral health services for homebound people. She initiated observation sessions in various general dental and specialist practices in the Philippines (general) and USA (New Jersey-orthodontics and Las Vegas-sedation).
Jinky does charity work annually and holds a current Senior First Aid Certificate as well as a NAATI Level 3 Filipino-English Translator license. She also completed a Sign Language course (AUSLAN) with the Deaf Society NSW in the pursuit of being able to likewise promote educational entertainment to those with hearing impairment and speech difficulty. Furthermore, Jinky has also attended introductory classes on Applied Kinesiology at the Australasian College of Kinesiology Mastery to improve postural balance, reduce physical and mental discomfort and stimulate body functions. Jinky has earned an Australian government-funded Certificate IV qualification (2014) on Dementia Care Essentials with Hammond Care’s Dementia Centre and YWCA NSW which further her skills on caring and understanding people with dementia, both the aged and younger onset.
Media Arts and Production
Knowledge and understanding are best shared in various media. With Jinky's vast skills and prolific experience in many fields, she felt that advancing media and technology play a vital role in effectively expressing oneself and passing on the knowledge and understanding on key concepts. Jinky has completed a Graduate Certificate in Media Arts and Production at the University of Technology Sydney. This course taught her the art of moving image, sound, digital media and interaction. Jinky is directed to articulate oral health education and promotion, Filipino heritage, cultural geography and general life concepts as personally experienced and learned through the interplay and production of the aforementioned media arts forms. She is continually being inspired by her two fast growing sons and family.

Jinky gives importance to community engagement. Since 1999, she actively engages and involves herself to community events and programs. Jinky has completed a course on Engaging Communities: Cross Disciplinary Perspectives which helped her develop an understanding on the processes of community engagement and enhanced her skills required to successfully engage communities. She has also completed a course on Communicating with Aboriginal People Across Genres which gave her a basic understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communication practices and protocols and improved her communication practices with Indigenous people whilst promoting oral health. Both courses are offered at the University of Newcastle. Jinky has also successfully completed a course on Aboriginal Culture - Respecting the Difference by NSW Health - Health Education and Training Institute while at work with Centre for Education and Research on Ageing.
Jinky is a volunteer Oral Health Educator assigned to both staff and clients of Cerebral Palsy Alliance since July 2014. In January 2015, Jinky also was a contributor (Storytelling segment) to community radio Triple H 100.1FM Radio Tagumpay then late 2015 became one of its presenters. In 2018, Jinky assumed the role of the program's co-media producer as she creates, edits recorded materials and prepares music on system to assist panelist during air time. Jinky also updates the program's AMRAP page regularly. Jinky moderates the reading session of young local guests during school holidays who are part of the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge. She also trains and supervises the program's local junior media contributors. Jinky also coordinates with weekly health practitioner contributors for the program. "Tagumpay" is the Filipino word for success. Radio Tagumpay goes with the philosophy that success is not just about what one has accomplished but also what one inspires others to achieve. Radio Tagumpay airs on Mondays from 2 to 4pm. Jinky is also a freelance writer for the online publication, The Filipino Australian.
