Oral Health Promotion for Primary School Students
Good oral habits, proper diet and nutrition and regular visits to the dentist are essential in having a better smile. As the child grows, baby teeth fall off and are replaced by permanent teeth. Good oral habits mean regular and regular visits to the dentist. Professional care by dentists, therapists and hygienists guards your child against tooth decay, checks how well teeth are maintained, watches any possible crowding or crookedness, bite problems, poor jaw alignment or delay in tooth eruptions.
Extra protection for the entire mouth is also needed if your child is into any contact sports such as footy, rugby or martial arts. Should there be any dental emergencies, your dentist has to be contacted immediately. Becoming informed about issues that affect oral health at an early age makes your child understand the importance of good mouth hygiene. A suitably entertaining, interactive and motivational Oral Health Promotion for Primary School Students will get your child involved more to his/her own well-being and protection. Good oral habits need to be continued as a child grows and enters the Adolescence stage when all "baby" teeth are completely replaced by permanent teeth.

RANDOM QUESTIONS
3 on-the-spot questions from a 9 year-old Olivia Humm with Mum Sue, Pennant Hills (as dental assistant to Dr Paul McCoy and as oral health educator, a Better Smile Dental Practice) - August 2012
Question 1 - 2 "I always write to the tooth fairy and never tell me her name and what she looks like."
Answers: Tooth fairies now work on a roster or shift. They can't give their names as they are not certain if they will be the same tooth fairy who will pick up your next baby tooth. More likely it would be someone else. They are happier now as there are much more beautiful teeth being left for them by most children (excluding those who didn't take care of their teeth which are damaged by fizzy drinks, too much sweets and not cleaning often and properly) than those in the past having fluoride on tap water here in Australia (since 1953).
Tooth fairies are all cheerful, tiny, beautiful flying friends of children who always wish to collect beautiful healthy baby teeth. These healthy teeth give the fairies assurance that boys and girls who are 6 years old and over will have similar beautiful healthy teeth when they get older - giving them brighter, better and confident smiles.
Question 3 "Why does the handwriting of the tooth fairy similar to Santa's ?"
Answer: Oh, what a compliment for that tooth fairy to be compared to Santa.
